Second Week Check-In -The Power of Maca
Day 15 – Okay, why did I take on this crazy challenge?
Well, I wanted to see if substantially changing my diet would increase my energy. Well, my energy did get a bump this week. I suspect it is due to my regular raw hot chocolate drinks. My raw, organic Maca powder finally arrived, so I have started adding 2 teaspoons of maca to the drink and, yes, my energy has increased. I don’t know if this is true energy or sustained stimulated energy but with a series of regularly baby-broken nights, I’ll take it where I can get it.
My husband says I have lost weight, ‘around the bum area.’ I didn’t ask him. He announced it. Losing weight has not been my conscious intention but I do think I have shed a couple of pounds. Not just in the bum area, but all over.
By the way, maca root is supposed to be an aphrodisiac, and I think that is correct. I had not noticed any difference when I had taken Maca in the past, but I did not have very much – less than a teaspoon. I didn’t have as much as I’m having now. Maca, I mean.
Side note – I had no idea what Maca root looked like. I had only seen it in powdered form. It grows in Peru. While researching it, I found out about a controversial statue of a giant Maca root. I totally understand why anyone would build an enormous statue of this stimulating root!
